Yesterday I harvested a couple clumps of Milo's wool. Milo is our Angora bunny which we received from a friend who had him. The friend did not use his wool for anything and adopted him because she likes bunnies. He is already neutered so we wont be able to breed him. This is kind of a bummer because it would be ideal to be able to breed him at least once so that we would have a lot more wool! :( oh well. He is safe and sound here and is finally settling in. He is kind of skittish(sp). I have been researching plenty on caring for him. I am trying to pull him out for a few minutes every day to groom him because he is very matted but he is a scaredy so I can't do too much at once. I am in a race against time a bit because I don't want him to get wool block, a very deadly condition that affects Angoras that aren't groomed often enough.
Today I plan on going to the yarn store if I can make it over there so that I can get information on spinning.
In our day and age, no one has to be helpless. We choose helplessness. Information and skill is at our very fingertips. We might have certain types of intelligence over our ancestors but the bulk of us could not survive in a government fall out because we do not have that knowledge of self survival anymore as a culture.
